A full day on the farm, including a long table lunch - 10.00am – 3.30pm
*Maximum 10 persons per class
There is something extra special about home-made soup. A warming, rich and creamy soup or a meal-in-a-bowl broth is the ultimate comfort food on a cold wintery day. Or a tasty chowder or silky textured bisque will be a hit at your long table lunch or dinner with friends.
Whatever your taste, this sensational soup course will teach you how to turn a few basic ingredients into a fabulous bowl full of flavoursome fare. Like anything in this world, great soups start with great foundations – a good stock and of course, a good bread is a must. You will learn the basics of the most delicious, moreish soup every time and how to make a good old Aussie damper to soak up all that deliciousness.
Jennifer’s Dutch and Irish roots and her love of wholesome country fare make her the perfect candidate to lead this class. Armed with the best recipes passed down from her fabulous foodie mother and her childhood memories with her grandparents in Ireland, Jennifer will pass on her traditional knowledge of making a simple soup into a sensational supper.
Head out past the hedge rows to the herb garden and veg patch, forage the farm and tread through the Truffière to gather your fresh ingredients. Then back to the Truffledore for a fun filled afternoon of cooking, chatting and chortling while we prepare our wonderful soups.
And to top off a fun filled day on the farm, with glasses charged we will all sit down for a long table lunch filled with hearty soups, great conversation and lashings of truffle…… Slurp & Burp!
