Farm to Table cooking experiences


A taste of country life

Foraging, harvesting, learning, cooking, sharing, eating and drinking - our classes are an entire paddock-to-plate cooking experience for all. 

With our intimate group of ten, the day begins with a cuppa and a catch up in The Truffledore.  From there we grab our baskets and head off to forage the orchard and kitchen garden, harvesting only the freshest seasonal fruit and vegetables.  As we make our way around the farm, there is ample time to discuss and ask questions about our sustainable farming practices – our ‘closed loop’ system and what it really means to ‘Reduce, Re-use and Recycle’…

Just a short walk through our ever-changing farmhouse gardens and you will catch a glimpse of our famous Truffiere.  On the way, meet our friendly farm animals - Roberta, Bobby and Buttercup our jolly Jerseys and the rest of our furry and feathered family. 

Once in the Truffiere, you will see, hear, touch, smell and taste everything truffle.  Discover the ins and outs of growing the elusive French black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) straight from the farmer - from inoculation to hunting and harvesting, and everything in between. 

Then, armed with our fresh country fare, its back to The Truffledore kitchen to whip up a storm.   Depending on the class you choose, Chef will share with you the secrets of creating delicious truffley dishes – From starters to deserts, from savoury to sweets, with veg, with seafood, with dairy with meats. 

Now for la pièce de résistance - we all sit down to enjoy the ‘fruits’ of our labour with the longest of long table lunches.  And to help celebrate our taste of country life, indulge in a glass of locally crafted beer, wine or cider.

As the day comes to a close you will have:

  • made new foodie friends,

  • a basket of goodies to take home and

  • learned all the tricks of the trade to create your own signature truffle dishes to share with family and friends…

Dietary restrictions and allergies

We do our best to cater for guests with dietary restrictions and/or allergies. However, as we source most of our ingredients directly from our kitchen garden and farm, this is not always possible. Please contact us if you wish to discuss your particular needs further.


The Truffledore Experience

A full day on the truffle farm - $260

Designed to give a taste of all areas of life on Cradle Country Truffle Farm - explore, forage, learn, cook and eat with lashings of truffle! Fresh truffle is harvested in the winter months (June - August).
